History

The tradition of sprouted grains and sprouts dates back to ancient times. 5,000 years ago, the Chinese were among the first to recognize their health benefits. In Peru, thanks to quinoa, the Incas constructed their empire. Researchers have discovered that primitive people like the Georgians, Ecuadorians or the Hunzas from the Himalayas have been using sprouting techniques for centuries. More recently, Captain Cook was able to accomplish his long journeys keeping his crew free of scurvy. It is interesting to note that amongst all great civilizations, at the point of their expansion, sprouted grains were used thus providing all of the vitality and vigor necessary to ensure the development of these societies.
